Chernobyl Children's Project (UK) supports children and families in Belarus, the country worst affected by the 1986 Chernobyl Nuclear Disaster by: bringing children to the UK for recuperative holidays; organising holidays in Belarus for disabled children from an orphanage; funding a children's hospice programme; delivering humanitarian aid to institutions, family associations and social centres;; organising training programmes and educational visits aimed at improving child care; setting up family homes for children and young people with special needs; organising respite care for families; and working with the authorities in Belarus to improve the education and social opportunities for children and young people with disabilities.
